Transportation of the disabled

Sosnowiec - a city without transportation barriers

Centre of Youth Education KANA in cooperation with Health and Welfare Division of the Sosnowiec City Hall carry out a pilot project concerning transportation of the city residents with disabilities. It is a part of a programme titled "Everyday support for disabled residents of Sosnowiec by creating conditions to increase their mobility"

The city of 38 thousand people who suffer from various degrees of disabilities has been lacking this sort of service (there was only a sanitary transportation provided by highly specialized units). It means that disabled residents of Sosnowiec were forced to meet their communicational needs on their own.



However, the situation will change. Due to this project the people will be able to get in a comfortable, safe and cheap way to e.g. a doctor, bank, shop or friends making use of the transportation service.
